The breed comes from cats with a velvet short blue coat that lived in the North of Russia. In the middle of the century, Queen Victoria in Great Britain had these murmurs. Already since 1871, Russian Blues have been at exhibitions. The breed had many names: short-haired Russian, Arkhangelsk, northern. Europeans loved these cats for their soft and good disposition, quietness, and these cats were also excellent rat-catchers, so sailors often took them with them on ships. British and old Siamese blue and blue-point colors took part in the breeding work on breeding real Russian blue cats. In the middle of the 20th century, new breeds were obtained - Russian black and white. These cats are medium in size with a wedge-shaped head and a light body. They differ from other cats in their clearly outlined whisker pads, giving the muzzle a peculiar smile. The main sign of the breed is soft, with tipping hairs at the end, which make up the silverness of the cat, thick, velvety and short fur. These cats began their strong distribution around the world from Great Britain, where they won the favor of the Queen of England Victoria, who had a lot of these cute fluffies in the palace. How the cats got to the "mistress of the sea" is unknown. But the breeders of Foggy Albion themselves know for sure that these wonderful creatures sailed from Russian Arkhangelsk. But it is known that the British cat lover Karen Cox traveled around Russia at the end of the 18th century, in particular, she was in the North, where she managed to take several green-eyed kittens. And already at the beginning of 19 phylenological associations recognized these cats as a separate breed, highlighting her appearance standard.
The most important thing for which fans of the Russian Blue breed are valued is an unusual aristocratic fur coat. The outer appearance is distinguished by a thick fur coat, the outer hair and downs are of the same length, like in the Black Glamm mink, the tips of the hair have a clarified color-tipping, i.e. silver. The more visible silver color on the blue tone of the coat, the more valuable the animal! A serious disadvantage is considered to be tight-fitting wool. A high-class representative of the breed is already born "blue blood" and does not have any white "medallion" spots or individual white hairs and the presence of a point color, the presence of tabby manifestations is permissible only at a young age, they can remain on the tip of the tailstripes in young animals up to 2 years old is acceptable. The beauty has exceptionally green big eyes, at an early age they are blue, this is due to the fact that there is not enough pigment in small kittens, closer to 3-4 months they begin to flourish in green. The norm is any tone from light to dark green, it can be olive. Ideally - rich emerald color. The shape of the eyes should not be round. The skull is of medium length, flat, straight profile, short wedge, strongly accentuated fibrisses, large set ears, long neck, purple paw pads, dark nose. The body is elegant, slender, muscular, the paws are long, the tail is long and flexible with a rounded tip at the end. There are two main types of breed standards distinguished: the American type and the European type, as well as the modern European breed WG. In our cattery, we try to keep as close as possible to the modern European type of the breed of Russian blue cats. The character of the graduates of our kennel also corresponds to the inherent breed: they have a good disposition, gentle character and are good-natured with all family members, get along well with dogs, adapt to any routine and can stay alone for a long time, waiting at the window, in the absence of a person she is able to entertain yourself. She is independent and can be alone without imposing her presence if she feels that you are busy or you are not up to her. She is so tender and touching that it is impossible to forget her, and in separation you dream of picking up this unusual creature that purrs loudly and meows softly, shows mutual tenderness and love.
Now the cost of WG varies from 8000 to 70000, it is sometimes difficult for buyers to figure out where to buy a kitten and how to determine the cost of a kitten. A thoroughbred kitten of a club Russian blue cat cannot be cheap, the average cost is 35,000-40,000 per pet, the show class is 45,000-50,000 and the price for breeding is negotiated individually in each individual case. Naturally, acquiring an animal is not at all expensive and without documents, it is difficult to trace parents and ancestors, and therefore, as a rule, without documents they sell at best a mestizo, which in behavior and upbringing is very different from the true aristocrat. Guarantee of purebred - is the metric and/or pedigree issued by the CLC, which includes registered catteries, the club takes responsibility for registering the cattery in the felinological organization. You can buy inexpensively by calling us by phone or filling out the application form.

So, you have decided to buy a Russian Blue kitten and decided to go shopping in an official cattery. The first thing you need to pay attention to is the sanitary condition of both the nursery itself and the conditions for keeping animals! A pungent smell should also alert - it should not be there, there may be a slight smell of cat litter. Kittens are necessarily mobile and playful, they should not hide in the corners from you, but they can be alert for a short time - the natural animal self-preservation instinct is triggered. Ask to show your parents in order to understand what will grow in the end, the temperament is also inherited, it would not be superfluous to pay attention to the character of the parents in order to choose a new family member not only by external signs, but also by the preferences in the character that you wanted to see in a favorite. Show a little patience, do not show loudly enthusiastic feelings from the little, wonderful kittens you see and try not to pick them up from the threshold, very soon the kids themselves will become interested in you and then you can start dating! This breed is characterized by curiosity - who did come after all ... they can’t resist coming up to you and smelling you! Examine the kitten carefully, as if playfully with him: is there any discharge from the eyes and nose, hygiene should not suffer under the tail, shiny, not disheveled coat, not lethargic and not apathetic. The breeder must answer all your questions and, upon request, demonstrate awards and documents for parents. When buying, a purchase and sale contract for a thoroughbred kitten is necessarily concluded, a certificate of its origin and a veterinary passport are issued, in which marks on vaccination and deworming are affixed. If in doubt or unsure, postpone the purchase or consult your veterinarian.
